Christmas Card Book ~ Our Cards Through the Years

Three years ago when we celebrated our first married Christmas together, I was so excited to make our first Christmas card.  Giving and receiving Christmas cards is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season.  It never gets old to get a card in the mail :)

As a way to keep our cards through the years, I created an album that is now one of my most precious possessions.  Each year, I have added our Christmas card to a page.  Over the years, it will be so neat to see how our family has grown and changed!  I also include our envelopes with our address labels, so we will always remember the different places we have lived over the years.  If my children are anything like me, they will love to have  this keepsake someday to reflect on our family that my husband and I have started.

Our first Christmas Card is on the cover.

Amy Owens from Amo-Ink designed our first Christmas card.  We decided to do postcards, and I love how this turned out!

For our second Christmas, I created our card with PicMonkey & assembled them myself.  I LOVE how these cards turned out, but they did take a very long time :)  The address labels are from Erin Condren...they have the cutest labels and gift tags!

This year, I opted for quick and easy.  We have been so busy this season, that we haven't had time to take family photos, so this picture at our Pumpkin Carving party actually captures our life pretty well right now...a little chaotic :)  (notice the dogs...tucker is trying to eat the pumpkin!)
Thank goodness for Walgreens!  I ordered these and picked them up within an hour.  I really liked a few of their designs, and decided to go with more of a non-traditional color route this year.

I love this season and collecting cards from friends and family.  I keep them all in this little basket by our front door.

Do ya'll love getting Christmas cards as much as I do??

Hope all of you are having a very blessed and merry holiday season!

Christmas Wish List ~ Coffee Table Books

I will be sharing a series of my Holiday Wish Lists with you guys over the next week.  I have loved reading all of the great gift guides out there and have been working on my list.  I am very particular, and it often takes me a while to decide on decor that I bring into my home.  It has to be just right...and my style is always evolving...but when I find something that I love...I really love it.  Today, I'm sharing some great books that I would LOVE to have in our home to not only read, but also use as coffee table books...they are all so pretty!  I've had my eye on most of these for a long time, and hope I see one of them sitting under the tree!

We are headed to Mexico on Sunday for a week, and I can't wait!  I'll have lots of free time finally and plan to get back to blogging when I can!

Have a great weekend!

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas...

Hello friends!  I wanted to pop in real quick to share some pictures of our Christmas decor so far in our new home.  This year is especially fun to decorate because we actually have some space for our decorations!  I just started on Sunday night...so here is a quick peak on things so far.  We are planning to go buy a real tree on Sunday afternoon with some friends, which will go in front of the big windows in our living room...can't wait!  But, in the mean time, here is our little home...

Dining Room Tree!

Little Tucker is waiting for her matching stocking to come in the mail :)

I followed Cassie's cute sequin tree tutorial for these last year!

As soon as we get our real tree up and lights outside, I'll share more!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Thanks BarkBox!

Hello blog friends!  I have missed you!  I wanted to stop in real quick to share what came in the mail today.  If you have a furry one at home, you should definitely get them a BarkBox!  We got ours today and couldn't be more excited!  Finnley was a little afraid of the box, so she did not want to pose for the camera...but Tucker isn't so shy :)

...told you she's not shy :)

I promise to be back soon with more updates from our world.

xoxo

Fall Decor ~ Bringing Nature Inside

I have been wanting to bring some nature into our Fall decor this year because I love the feel of natural elements in our home.  Yesterday while I was at my grandmother's house, I picked up a whole bag full of acorns that were just laying on the ground.  I brought them home, filled them in glass jars, and used some fabric and leaves that I already had to create these FREE fall decorations.  Here's what I came up with...hope you like it!

In case you are new to my blog, you can check our some of my other Fall-related posts here:

Nashville for the Weekend!

Hey guys!  We are in Nashville for the weekend for a friends wedding and it is SO good to be back!  It's so good to be back in our old stomping grounds and see great friends.  Nashville is one of the greatest cities EVER in my opinion.  So many amazing local places that I miss...some of my favorite include:  Sunset Grill, McDougal's, PM, Belmont Blvd, Virago, the Parthenon, The Hill Center, the Green Hills YMCA, Big Bang, Belmont, Vandy Children's Hospital, Lover's Circle, Music Row, Pangea, Pancake Pantry, and Fido's just to name a few :)

In honor of the first day of Fall tomorrow, and being on vacation...here's a view of my morning.  Coffee, pumpkin bread, & RoRo's Cinn-A-Rolls...yum!

Have a wonderful weekend!

5 Minute {DIY} Chalkboard Tray

Good morning!  Today I wanted to share a super easy{DIY} tray I made.  I bought a simple white tray from Goodwill for about $1 and used chalkboard spray paint to make this a fun tray that can have multiple uses in our house.  Right now, it's sitting pretty on our kitchen desk with a warm Fall Welcome :)

Do you find yourself putting chalkboard paint on everything like me?!?  :)

Have a wonderful day friends!

Woohoo for the Weekend!

Woohoo for the weekend!  I pulled the trigger and bought a pumpkin from Whole Foods yesterday...aren't they so cute!?!

We took our puppies to the lake this morning for a run/walk and the weather was so nice.  I love when we actually wake up and do this in the mornings.  It makes the day so much nicer.  Here was my view!

Are ya'll loving all the Fall/Halloween decor out there as much as me?  I am in love with this cute Crate & Barrel mug and plan to pick up a couple today.

I am also loving these items for Fall!  All are under $100!  Do ya'll ever check out Piperlime's "Girls on a Budget"??  So many amazing fashion finds that won't break your bank!

Pumpkin Bread

As promised...here is the Pumpkin Bread recipe!  I made my first batch of pumpkin bread Sunday afternoon, and it was delicious! I make this every year, and it is by far the best recipe I have found for Pumpkin Bread.   I made a double batch and gave some little loaves to our friends.  I used scrap fabric I already had and some fake fall leaves to dress up my gift tags.  This makes such an easy and cute Fall gift!

Pumpkin Bread

3 cups Sugar
1 cup Canola Oil
4 Eggs
2/3 cup Water
2 cups Pumpkin
3 1/3 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. Salt

Mix sugar ad oil together.  Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.  Add pumpkin.  Sift dry ingredients together ad add alternately to the pumpkin mixture with water.  Grease loaf pans and pour batter in pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Makes 2-3 large loaves.

Enjoy!  I'll be linking up to Tasty Tuesdays!
