Hey guys! Hope ya'll had a fun 4th of July yesterday. We went over to my parents house for hamburgers, hot dogs, and Blue Bell ice cream...and it was delicious! After dinner we went to see an amazing fireworks show in Frisco, TX and we were up on a hill with an amazing view. By far, one of my favorite 4th of July fireworks shows. Today I wanted to show you my updated gallery wall in the living room. I originally had three paintings on the left side of the TV, but thought it looked too busy and a little too modern for the look I was going for in our living room. Here is what I started with:
I ordered these three paintings from Sarah Swanson a few weeks back. I originally wanted to hang them just like this, but something wasn't working in my opinion...
...So I rearranged a bit...but still wasn't totally sold on how it was looking...a bit too modern for the look I wanted for this room.
It looked good up close, but in the room as a whole, I felt the scale was just off...
SO...I switched the clock to the other side, and decided to hang these two paintings like this!
I love how it all turned out and plan to use the pink painting in my office. I want our living room to be a calm and traditional space. So, this is definitely much more my style at the moment.
In case you are just popping in, here is the rest of the room so far. A work in progress, but it is coming along nicely!
What do you think??
Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day :)
I think it looks great! Just curious, did you leave the unused nail holes as is, or did you spackle/paint them? Do you have an easy way to hang pics in line with each other? I always get so nervous that I'm going to screw it up and put the nail in the wrong place!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great! I love all of the different textures in the space. I have two of Sarah's paintings and I love them! They have a way of adding the perfect touch of modern to any room.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, the navy ombre painting reminds me of Mark Rothko! I am definitely a fan, thanks for sharing!

I love those paintings! Everything looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! Sarah's paintings look so perect in your space.
ReplyDeleteYou have such great taste in furniture. I worked as an architect (before becoming a stay at home mum) and that ottoman/coffee table is one of my favourite items to specify for clients. Those paintings are gorgeous too, though I'd have probably place them in a hallway or somewhere that wasn't the heart of the home.

Thanks for stopping by! Your room is looking really nice, love the soft colors and textures. Nice job! I enjoyed the peek at that stencil wall in the DR too. I'm in love with stencils lately.
