Barbecue Grilled Salmon

A few of you asked me to share my grilled salmon recipe...so here you go!  We've been using our new grill alot lately, and everything on my plate below was just wrapped in foil and grilled outside.

The salmon is super easy...I hardly feel like it is really a recipe :)  Salmon has always been my favorite fish, and I love to order it when we go out to a nice restaurant.  My dad used to always grill this for me when I was in high school, so the recipe just kind of evolved from that.  He would always brush the salmon filet with barbecue sauce, and it is so yummy!

Salmon Filet
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Barbecue Sauce

Take a piece of foil and spray it with cooking spray.  Place the salmon in the foil, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your liking.  Baste with barbecue sauce (we use Sweet Baby Ray's).  Then,  seal the salmon in the foil and put it on the grill on medium heat for about 20 minutes.

If you don't have an outdoor grill, you can easily do this in the oven.  I would seal the foil and cook it at 350 for 20-25 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.

This is seriously so delicious, and super easy.  Fish always intimidated me, but this is for all you non-cooks out there!

I'm linking up to Tasty Tuesdays!  Have a wonderful day!

  1. Thank you for sharing. This looks delicious and I will be trying soon! Do you normally get the filets from the meat counter or the frozen ones?

  2. Thanks for sharing it Amy! While my husband loves to grill, he has always been a bit intimidated by fish!

  3. Fish is one of the easiest food products to grill. One tip I can suggest is to get the grill hot before you put the fish on. This’ll sear the skin, locking up the juices in the flesh. Another concern that a lot of people ask is the duration of the fish in the grill. A good rule to follow is to grill the fish eight minutes per one inch of thickness. :)
